Cosmetics have a fascinatingly strange history. It spans approximately 6000 years- almost every society that ever existed had some form of beauty products. The first archaelogical evidence of makeup usage was found in Egypt from 4,000 BC. Ancient Greeks and Romans also used makeup. However, not knowing the dangers, these societies used mercury and lead in their cosmetics.
Throughout the years there have been some strange makeup products and trends. I thought it would be fun to highlight some of these each Wednesday. And trust me, there are some STRANGE ideas out there!!
