Saturday Solutions

Tuesday's Trend

This week trend is a healthy glow!  Now that it's summertime, heavy make up is out.  To get this look you want to start with a light foundation or tinted moisturizer.  Follow with a cream based blush, light eyeshadow, mascara and some lipgloss and you're good to go!  If you're in a rush, skip the eyeshadow.  Here are my favorite products to get the look (click on the picture to take you to my website to order):

Friday Favorites

Today's favorite is  Dew Kiss Lip Dew.  This lip balm is amazing!  I'm not a fan of lip balms that make my lips tingle or feel too waxy.  Dew Kiss goes on smooth and makes your lips feel incredibly soft!  It's colorless and flavorless, so it's perfect under your favorite lipstick.  It's also great for pre-teens that want to wear makeup, but aren't allowed just yet :-)  What's the best part??  It only cost $.99!!!  And currently it's on sale for $.79!  I keep one in my purse, my work bag, and my diaper bag!  One thing I will warn you about, however, is the scent.  I like the scent, but it's a little perfumey and I know some people who don't care for it.  Click on the picture to try it today!

Wacky Wednesday!

Mothers Moon Breastmilk Soap.  Yes, my friends, this is an actual product that you can order and use.  And yes, it is made from her breast milk.  Now, if you want to make soap from your own breast milk, go for it.  However, who is willing to buy soap made from someone else's milk?!  Here's the website's description:  contains my own all natural breast milk, olive oil, honey, and glycerin. I'm still working on something for Sunday and Thursday.  I want to feature new products, but I can't come up with a title that goes well with one of those days.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!  Well, I hope you enjoy my entries and I hope they help you choose which Avon products work best for you.  I truly love selling Avon because I believe in their products and I hope to convince you to try them someday soon!

Saturday Solutions

I hate mascara that runs.  There has been many a hot summer day when I end up looking like a raccoon come 3 o'clock!  I've tried waterproof mascara, but I hate how clumpy it looks.  I also hate that I have to take a Brillo pad to my face to scrub it off!  Luckily, Avon has the solution- Wash-Off Waterproof Mascara!!  Simply genius.  It comes in two colors- black and brown.  It's streak free, smudge proof, and washes off with soap and water or Avon's eye makeup remover.   It's a definite must have for those of us who live in humid conditions.  Try it today!

Friday's Favorite

This evening the school I work for held its graduation.  The ceremony starts at 6pm, but they start lining up all 685 seniors and 200 faculty members outside around 4:30pm.  I live in Northern Virginia.  It was over 90 degrees this evening.  As I sit here writing this at 9pm my thermometer says it's 85 degrees.  Hot and humid and gross.  After an hour of being out in this lovely weather a few people made comments on how my makeup still looked great!  I couldn't believe it!!  Always a nice thing to hear when you feel so nasty and sweaty.

What was I wearing, you ask?  Avon's ExtraLasting Liquid Foundation!  This foundation comes in 17 different shades and has SPF 12.  It goes on smooth and blends well.  I'll admit that I was a little weary when I first bought it because I was afraid it would be too think for my liking.  That's not the case at all.  It feels light, but gives me great coverage!  It's on sale for the next two weeks for $9.99- a definite must try!!

Wacky Wednesday

Cosmetics have a fascinatingly strange history.  It spans approximately 6000 years- almost every society that ever existed had some form of beauty products. The first archaelogical evidence of makeup usage was found in Egypt from 4,000 BC.  Ancient Greeks and Romans also used makeup.  However, not knowing the dangers, these societies used mercury and lead in their cosmetics.

Throughout the years there have been some strange makeup products and trends.  I thought it would be fun to highlight some of these each Wednesday.

Today's wacky product was created to celebrate Play-Doh's 50th Anniversary in 2006.  It's Play-Doh Perfume by Demeter Frangrances!  According to their website, "Demeter has bottled that fresh, just-out-of-the-can, eau de PLAY-DOH aroma as part of a year-long celebration of the beloved modeling compound's 50th birthday. Tuesday's Trend

Every Tuesday I'm going to highlight a seasonal trend.  This week's trend is coral.  Coral is a hot color this summer and Avon has everything you need!  Coral looks great paired with neutrals: whites, khaki, cream and gray.  If you want the color to pop and make a statement, wear it with black- classy and elegant.  Coral eye shadow looks amazing paired with blue eyes!
